A COUPLE who have five children, 12 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren are celebrating 60 years together today.
Roy and Jean Crocker, who live in Ventnor Road, St George, married at the Church of St Philip and Jacob near Old Market on July 19, 1952.
Mr Crocker, now 81, worked as a boiler maker and then as a parts inspector at Rolls-Royce in Filton.
His wife, now 80, worked at the former Elizabeth Shaw chocolate factory in Greenbank and then worked in the canteen at First Bus in Bristol city centre.
After they married they lived above Mrs Crocker's father's bric-a-brac shop in Midland Road.
They had five children – Tony, now 60; Derek, now 53; Sue, now 50; Jane, now 48; and Sally, now 44.
Their eldest son Tony, who lives in Kingswood, told the Post: "Mum and Dad have always led a happy life – 60 years says it all really.
"Mum loves her bingo and dad loves history and reading up about the war.
"Unfortunately dad was recently taken ill but he is now recovering and they are very excited about reaching their diamond wedding."
