Timescale for Contesting a Will Under the Inheritance (Provision for Family and Dependants) Act 1975

If you would like to contest a loved one's will you may make a claim under the Inheritance (Provision for Family and Dependants) Act 1975. You must have been a close relative and/or in some way dependent on the deceased and you must have grounds to contest the will. If you wish to bring a claim under the Inheritance Act 1975, you must start proceedings within 6 months of the Grant of Probate.
