SOME would maintain that the headline about gulls (Gulls 'Biggest threat to heritage' Weekend Post Sept 15). concerning these beautiful birds borders on the hysterical.
I am often hysterical in my opinions, but in those involving the natural world, rarely. Unfortunately, we as a species continually increase in numbers and impact so that our conflicts with nature increase also.
The best and safest route surely, must be dialogue, as with most things, so keep the issue up front and we might all cool down and learn something.
